Termites (Deemak) — The Silent Destroyers in Your Walls

Termites, commonly known as deemak in India, are wood-eating insects that live in large underground colonies and access your home through the soil or cracks in the foundation. They build mud tubes along walls and inside wooden structures, consuming cellulose material from the inside out while leaving the outer surface intact. This makes infestations extremely difficult to detect until significant damage has already occurred. A mature termite colony can number in the millions and, left untreated, can render wooden furniture, flooring, door frames, and structural timber completely hollow within a few years. Delhi NCR's soil type and warm climate make it one of the highest-risk regions for subterranean termite activity in India.
